We’re pleased to announce that we’ve made our explanation of benefits (EOB) easier for our members to read and understand. Effective March 15, we will begin using the new EOB design with members living in Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin. Check out the redesigned EOB, which will include:
Members may receive an EOB after they’ve had health care services to show what was done, what was covered, what was paid and what’s owed. The EOB can have a lot of important and useful information. The new design makes it easier for members to understand that information and compare it with a doctor bill, to make sure we paid the right amount, or check if they were billed for the right service. An EOB also helps them track their health care and expenses.
Members will continue to have the option of getting their EOBs online. They can log in to www.anthem.com, go to Profile tab, select Email Preferences link and choose Go Paperless to set up this service. Once they go paperless, we email them a link to our secure site when they have a new claim. To protect their privacy, no personal health information is included in the email. They simply log in to the site, review their EOB and print it if they want to.
